Foundation Analysis Outputs

Question:

Dear all,

I am a Soilworks-Foundation user. Could you please confirm the outputs terminology related to Pile Max Displacements and Max. Member Force. The result of Maximum Vertical Force is named 'Fx'. However the vertical direction plane is 'z'.

Answer:

Dear Sir,

In SoilWorks the load is applied in reference to Global Coordinate System as it has been shown on your picture.
For Pile results, we are using local Elemental Coordinate System, where X axis is oriented along length of Pile. This is why global Z become X for FX now.
