concrete design

Question:

Hello,
When designing a column, can i set the i or j node where the design to be made?

Answer:
Hello,

When modeling the column, the starting point becomes the i-end and the end point becomes the j-end. In Display dialog, once you checked on Local Direction, you can see the arrow. And the point where the arrow points is j-end.

And also you can change the i-end and j-end with "Reverse Element Local" option in the change parameters function via Node/Element > Elements> Change Parameters.

Thank you.

Hello,
I think you don't understand me. It is about designing the column not modeling it. I know that the starting node is the "i" node and the "j" node is the end node. But when designing, I what the design to be made only for "i" node for exemple. can I set this from somewhere? the program automatically design it in i and j node.

Hello,

In the program, columns are designed for the unfavorable load between I and J. In other words, it is impossible to select the part for the design. To do that, divide the element into small element on i and j parts, and then perform the design for the small element which you want to know.
Thank you.

Hello again.
