Question:

I am not able to import surfaces from AutoCad into Midas Civil. It seems that it is only possible to import nodes and lines/beams from AutoCad?
It is possible to import AutoCad file so that surfaces are recognised as 2D plate elements in MIDAS Civil? This will be very helpful when creating geometry for complex FE models.

Answer:
Hello,

If you use the 2D face in the AutoCad, you can import them as 2D plate element in midas civil.
And also Various polyline types, such as polygon, triangle, rectangle, etc., can be imported to midas Civil as plate elements in .DXF format, where plate elements are imported as thick type (without drilling DOF).
Thank you.
