Inputting Parametric Section Properties after setting up model with Wizard

Question:

We have developed a model (Steel I-Girder) using the Wizard and then manually added a steel straddle pier. Obviously, we will need to iterate the plate dimensions of the steel plate girders as we develop the design. We were told we cannot re-run the wizard so we need a workaround to manually adjust the section properties (plate sizes). If we create non-composite steel section properties outside of the wizard, can we use the parametric section properties "Steel I-Girder Sections" utilized by MIDAS and update the model by replacing the non-composite "General Sections" that the wizard has assigned to the plate girders? Would this allow us to still do design checks on updated sections as we iterate our design? If not, is there a workaround you can recommend? Thanks!

Answer:
Yes, you can use the parametric section properties "Steel I-Girder Sections" and update the model by replacing the non-composite "General Sections". However, a design check for the composite section is not possible regardless of the section type of plate girder, i.e. "Steel I-Girder Sections" or "General Sections".

There are four modeling types in the 'Steel Composite Girder Bridge' wizard. Among them, design checks is only supported for the 'All Frame' type. The modeling type of your model is 'Deck as Plate, Girder as Frame', for which design check is not possible.

The 'All Frame' type creates composite section for which design check is possible and the plate dimension can easily be changed as we develop the design.
