Question:

Dear MIDAS,

Good morning,

I`d like to know MIDAS civil file which is mct is able to import in the MIDAS Gen .

If it is able, let me know.
And if not possible, what is possible way import MCT file in the Midas Gen.

In addition, please introduces constriction sequence for Midas Gen.

Thanks and Regards,

Answer:

Hello,

The process to import midas Civil mct file into midas Gen is an iterative process. First of all, change the extension of the mct file to mgt. Now, open the text file and delete the version information (generally first 3 lines) in the file. Once done, save the file and import it in midas Gen. There could be some errors since both Gen and Civil have certain different features. Remove those lines. There could be some data loss. Kindly check before proceeding.
As for construction sequence, midas Gen already has that capability. Kindly refer the image below.

Dear Nandeep Gohil,

Could explain more detail due to some part confusing ?

First of all, change the extension of the mct file to mgt.
When I changed extension, file type is changed by MIDAS/GENw text file

Now, open the text file and delete the version information (generally first 3 lines) in the file.
When I open the MIDAS/ENw text file, I can see only one line which is "MCVL "
Where is version inform ?
Once done, save the file and import it in midas Gen.
Just I have delete "MCVL " in the one line, after that can`t save .

So I can`t move on below step. Please advise more and If you possible show some demo or picture, please provide me .
There could be some errors since both Gen and Civil have certain different features. Remove those lines. There could be some data loss. Kindly check before proceeding.

Thanks and regards

Dear Nandeep, Please explain more detail. 1. Now I`m not able to use Midas civil. I can use Midas gen only but I have Midas civil mcg file only. 2. Your attached mgt file still have error as importing Midas gen Thanks Lee jeaik

Dear,

The mgt file definitely has errors since midas Gen doesn't have PSC section database. All of that data would have to be removed. This process would have to be done at your end, since its an iterative and time consuming. Personally, I wouldn't recommend using a midas Civil file in midas Gen as there would be significant data loss.
Still, if it is required, kindly import the mgt file that was sent before, check the error line numbers in the message window, delete those lines, save the file and re-import. Repeat the process until the file could be imported. Section data information and PSC design information would definitely be lost.
As for midas Civil file, simply download the mcb file that you have uploaded here, if that is still required.

Dear MIDAS,

I`d like to request your help.
Please change attached Midas Civil file to MCT file and MIDAS Gen file.

Thanks and Regards,

Hello,

The converted files are attached.
Kindly note that for mgb files, the Gen version is 2019v1.1.  If it is required to import in other version, kindly use the sent mgt files.
