Australian Standard Properties and General Sections

  1. I do not see any Australian Super-T or even steel sections in the in-built sections. Please let me know how to create them or add them.
  2. How to create a non-standard section to use in the model – both concrete and steel
  3. How to carry out section capacity check with different yield strength of bars, strands etc. for a non-standard property.

Hello,

The response are as below:
1.  I do not see any Australian Super-T or even steel sections in the in-built sections. Please let me know how to create them or add them.
2.  How to create a non-standard section to use in the model – both concrete and steel
A:  Currently only PSC type database is added for Australia.  These could be accessed from location as shown below.
If the section shape is such that it could be defined using our inbuilt templates then simply enter the values and it would be generated.  However, if it is some irregular section, then section property calculator could be used.  Kindly refer the attached tutorial for how this could be used.

3.  How to carry out section capacity check with different yield strength of bars, strands etc. for a non-standard property.
A:  PSC design isn't available based on Australian code as of now.  Kindly let us know if you'd be interested in getting this done by some other international standard like AASHTO or Euro and we'll share the procedure document and video.
