Midas Staged Construction DL Moment Error

Question:

Hello –

In the attached model, I noticed an error in the tabulated results provided by MIDAS and the visual results for Mz moment for DL & SIDL. Specifically, I was looking for the moment about the bridge transverse axis at the base of the column. The visual results appear to be showing the correct moment given the shear values while the tabulated values are only about 1/10 of the visual. This discrepancy is only seen in the DL and SIDL values (from what I can tell). Is this a common problem, is there a way to fix it? Your input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Answer:

Hello,

This shouldn't be happening.  The model file or image explaining the issue were not attached.  Kindly share the same for further review.

Hopefully this attachment comes through, I had tried to attach it the first time as well. I provided screen shots in the original message. I am particularly interested in Construction Stage DL and SIDL Mz at part J of elements 270/279/288. The visual results and tabulated results match for the other load cases.

I attached the screen shots as pictures here instead of pasting them in the message.

More screenshots are attached if they add clarity. M_y is also provided to show that all other directions of forces and moments seem to align with the tabulated results. Only Mz is incorrect and only for CS DL and CS SIDL from what I can tell.

Hello,

I checked it at my end with the older version and was getting results as expected.

I am not quite sure why this is happening at your end.  However, kindly try after applying the patch.
To apply the patch, please follow the steps below:
1) Download the patch by Clicking on above patch link
2) Extract the content of the file
3) Paste them at the location where midas Civil is installed. Default location is - C:\Program Files\ MIDAS\midas Civil
4) When prompted to replace existing files, please click yes
5) Restart computer, Done!
Kindly let us know if further assistance would be required.
