Question:

Hello ,

I have problem with the model, I almost complete the modelling and I am in the stage of getting the results.

Unfortunately, I could not manage to get the beam stresses from the SLS LC1, however I manage to get the bending moment for the same load case

can you please assist me with this matter

Regards

Answer:

Hello,

For composite sections when composite section for Construction stage is defined, stress for the beam is to be checked in parts.  Part 1 is generally the girder and part 2 is slab.
However, as it could be noted from the image above, it is still not visible for the U girder section.  I've asked our development team to look into it.  Sorry about the inconvenience.

its okay for U-girder I do not want any results for it now. but U still can ask the development team to look at it.

I just want to confirm the stresses sign convention, positive is tension and negative is compression

One more thing,

you did mentioned part 1 is for the girder and part 2 is for the slab.

so if I choose part 1 , I will be checking the girder stresses.

How about if I want to check the stresses of the composite section (both slab and beam)

Hello,

Positive is tension and negative is compression.
When I say part 1 stress, we are just bifurcating it by parts in the composite section.  We do this, so that we can check stress at intermediate location as well, i.e., where the girder is connected to the slab.  The stress that we see are for the composite section only.
Kindly let us know if further assistance would be required.

Hi , I just want to know if there is any way we can view part 1 and part 2 stresses in tables as shown in the photo attached because the tables shows the combined section stresses in which the stresses are zero.

Regards

Hello,

These could be checked in table as below
