Combined stress from each of the Construction stages

Dear Suppor Team

I have created model with a lots of construction stages (incremental launching method) and I want to check for each of the stages if there is any tension stress (combined) at top and/or bottom of the deck.

Checking it stage by stage and printing drawings it is very time consuming so I looking for other way to do that. I found that it is possible use Stage/Step Graph but unfortunately ther is no option to choose combine stress.

Could you please advice me how do check stress (combined stress at point 1 and/or 2, 3, 4) for selected elements for each of the stage and from selected load case? (without checking hundred of graphs, stage by stage of course)

Hello ,

You can check the stress results for each stage very quickly by using the Results >> Results Tables >> Composite Section for CS >> Beam Stress. Note that you need to change the current stage of the model to any stage, just not the PostCS stage, before you open the table to activate the stage results. In this table you can choose which elements, load cases, stages and sections you are interested in.

In the table you will see for each element and part the stress by component as well as the combined stresses at the 4 corners of the section. You can sort the table by the stress you are interested in and easily spot if there are any points which get in tension:

You can also select the Max/Min stage ad plot the stress diagram for this stage. This will allow you to choose the max or min load case and will display the max and min value which occurs throughout all stages in a given element. In your case you are interested in the "CSmax" load cases in order to check for positive values (tension) and you can select which point (1,2,3 or 4) to display or the maximum from the 4 points:
