Reinforcement of surface elements

Question:

Hello,

our customer is trying to set reinforcement of surface element using Mashed Design  but they had some problems.

They have entered reinforcement data but after checking on elements which are connected with reinforcement program doesn't recognize them and light them up in blue. They had set domains and subdomains before.

If You have any toutorial on how to do this procedure in steps we will appreciate it.

They also tried to manage it using method from previous program version but they occured this comunicat:

I the attachment I send the model. I would be grateful for your help.

Best regards,

Answer:

Hello,

Meshed slab design is basically Shell Design.  The users have assigned the plates as 1D beams and thus, the reinforcements weren't being assigned.  The domain/Sub-domain need to be modified as shown in the image below.
Once this is done, the reinforcements would be assigned as shown in the image below.
Rest of the input is quite alright.  Kindly let us know if further assistance would be required.

Hallo,

we received some additional questions from our customer:

1. Does the program in the field of reinforcement of surface elements distinguish calculation combinations: characteristic and for egz. quasi-permanent ?
2. As I see in the design procedure, if we have an element with cracks (which is the majority of cases) we have to do the "sandwich" model.
In the results report, I received a recommendation to create a "sandwich" model.

My question is how to create a "sandwich" model?
Should I share my surface elements for more elements arranged one on top of the other?
Or maybe the only option of using such a model is to mark reinforcement in this way?

Unfortunately, checking on above option doesn't help in the results of calculations, because it still gets a comment that you should use the "sandwich model".

3. Does the old method of calculating the reinforcement of surface elements also work?

I would be gratefull for Your help.

Best regards,

Hello,

This as well, I'll get back tomorrow.

Hello Monika,

The response are as below:
1. Does the program in the field of reinforcement of surface elements distinguish calculation combinations: characteristic and for egz. quasi-permanent ?
A:  Currently, the design is only for strength cases.  no serviceability checks.
2.
My question is how to create a "sandwich" model?
Should I share my surface elements for more elements arranged one on top of the other?  Or maybe the only option of using such a model is to mark reinforcement in this way?
A:  Sandwich model is being used.  Actually the English used there is a bit confusing.  It should have read "CRACKED.  SANDWICH MODEL WILL BE USED."  The calculations in the report that is being generated is based on the sandwich model.
3. Does the old method of calculating the reinforcement of surface elements also work?
A:  Yes, Plate 1D design can still be done.  Kindly redefine the domains accordingly.

Kindly let us know if further assistance would be required.
