Unable To Proceed Analysis

Question:

The SoilWorks under slope design showed the below message during analysis and report manager:

Generating the model data to perform analysis...
 AVAILABLE MEMORY = 1400.0 MBYTES
forrtl: severe (41): insufficient virtual memory

What can I do to resolve this issue mentioned above?

Thank you.

Answer:

Dear Sir,

This error is caused by to dense grid spacing needed for failure surface creation.
Please decrease the value and model will be calculated. i.e. 50 m

Piotr

Dear Piotr,

Thank for your help. It's work now but can I know the way to know the range of dense grid spacing?
How to calculate or just trail and error?

Thank you.

Regards,

There is no method to calculate.
I think this is trial and error method.

Piotr

Hi Piotr,

May I know what's possibility error to causes the soilworks unable to open, load files?
Basically it will have ''define initial parameters" first when we open new files everytime. But today the soilworks does not show it and I can't open and load for other files too.

Thank you.

Regards

Hello,

First I would like to ask you to create new ticket if the topic of issue differs.
This will be helpful for me.

I am not sure if I understand  correctly:  is it not possible to open file at all?
Or Define Initial Parameters dialog box has been not appeared?

I dont know the reason of such action, but you can try to go to Properties and reset all settings:

or reinstall the software.

Regards,
Piotr
