Question:

Hi,

Analysis with tendon elements do not work. Why?

Regards,

Answer:
Hi,

As error message says, any nodes of the tendon element should not be shared with other elements in FEA NX. The tendon elements can simply be disconnected from other elements in the following way.
Step 1. Select all the tendon elements and move the elements by a certain amount, say 50 mm, in the X direction.
Step 2. Move back the tendon elements to the original position. Make sure that the 'Merge Nodes' option should be checked off as shown below.

If you run analysis again, this time the different type of error message will come out.
[Error] Ground Element is Missing for J Node of Tendon[44644].
This occurs because tendon element is created outside the concrete (ground element or mother element) as shown below. This cannot happen even in reality. If you correct this, the analysis will be completed successfully.
