Question:

I am running into an issue with Moving Load Tracer

I want to find coincident load effects with the maximum vertical reaction of Truck Load at Node 1288. When I look at the envelope the reaction is 583.2 kN

When I run the Moving Load Tracer it picks up the same maximum vertical load value:

However when I run the static loadcase created from the Moving Load Trace I get a different result and I can’t work out why:

I have attached the model file, if you could please advise what I need to do to get a static load case with consistent results and coinicident effects I would really appreciate it.

Answer
In moving load analysis, the compression only elements are converted to linear elements by default, while in static analysis, the compression only element behave as such. Thus, a reduced reaction for static load converted cases are observed.
