Hi Nandeep,

I've got IT do a reinstall and the models load without any errors like last time, however I hope when I go back to the models in the future that the error doesn't re-appear

Hello Loukas,

For now, we'd appreciate it if you could do a clean install of midas Civil and re-check.
1)  Uninstall midas Civil
2)  Remove the midas folders from the registry

3)  Reinstall midas Civil 2021 v1.2.  Download from the link provided here.

Check the model files.  If the issue isn't resolved, then upgrade to the latest internal release version by applying the patch.
To apply the patch, please follow the steps below:
1) Download the patch by Clicking on the above patch link
2) Exit any open project and close all midas Civil windows
3) Extract the content of the file
4) Paste them at the location where midas Civil is installed. The default location is - C:\Program Files\ MIDAS\midas Civil
5) When prompted to replace existing files, please click yes
Check the model files again.  If the issue is still not resolved, kindly let us know.  In that case, we'd have to set up a remote session to check the system ourselves.

Hello Loukas,

At this point in time, I myself am not aware actually.  Using the same license details, I am able to access both the files in the latest version at our end.

Please can you explain a little more as to the origin of the error? Is it within the models or is it within the software?

Again, one of the models which I can't open, can be opened by others in my team, while one of the model can not be opened.

Hello Loukas,

With the same PKID and PID, we were able to access it at our end.  We'll further discuss it and update here.  Sorry about the inconvenience.

Hello Loukas,

Kindly let us know the PID being used at your end.

We used Jacobs's license to access the model in Civil 2021 v1.2.  We are able to access it without any issue.  It could be an issue pertaining to PID...

Two particular models which don't work are attached.

Hello Loukas,

Kindly share the model file which you aren't able to access for further review.

Hi Jessica,

I've not applied any CS454 loading to either of the models in terms of live loading, one is to Eurocode and the other is to BD21/BD37.

I didn't think Jacobs had the capability to model CS454 loading due to their licenses.

Regards,
Loukas

Hello Loukas,

Could you advise if you have used CS454 option capability on your model?

Kind Regards,
MIDAS UK

I've updated MIDAS to the latest version as previously recommended, at the time of the installation I opened a model and it appeared to be working fine. When I've tried to open models today I'm getting an error 'Unable option is selected. Please contact Vendor'. Another user trying has/is experiencing the same problems. Is this a error within the models or the software?

Hello Loukas,

As Jacobs is under valid maintenance period, you can continue to use the same license key for the new version as well.
Let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind Regards,
MIDAS UK

I'm in the process of getting MIDAS Civil updated to the latest version, IT have contacted me to see if I will need a new software access key for the new software. Please advise whether this is the case or whether only a download is required and my existing software access key configured.

Hello Loukas,

Since there has been no update in 5 days, we will be closing the issue.  Kindly re-open or post a new ticket if further assistance would be required.

Hello Loukas,

That's quite unusual.  So, in the later versions (checked in Civil 2020 v3.2 and Cvil 2021 v1.2), we aren't facing this issue.
If feasible, kindly upgrade to the latest version where this issue is resolved.  However, if that isn't possible due to some technicality, kindly let me know and we'll request the development team to work on a fix for this issue.  Please note that since this issue is in a much older version, it will take some time to obtain a patch for it.  Kindly let me know how you'd like to proceed with this.

Hi Nandeep,

Attached is a screenshot of the error.

The model was working fine until I had applied vertical temperature to the beams. I did manage deleting the load effect and the model would work for sometime, however when I reapplied the load it wouldn't analyse again.

I have managed to open another MIDAS model for a different project, modify it and analyse it without any issues.

Regards,
Loukas

Hello Loukas,

Thanks for getting in touch.  This is a bit unusual.
Could you please share the details of faulting module with us?  The steps to be followed are provided here.
Also, to be clear, you can't analyze this particular model at all now or does it work sometime and crashes sometimes?
