Composite Stress Calculation in MIDAS CIVIL

Question:

Hi,
I have a doubt regarding composite section stress calculation in MIDAS. I was checking it for self-weight only in post construction stage (not considering time-dependent effects). The section should behave as a composite section. But stress distribution appears like slab and girder are bending independently.
Please explain the detailed calculations for stresses in this case?

Answer: Hello User,

Thanks for your interest in Midas. PFA the screenshots showing the BeamStresses for Part 1 - Girder and Part 2- Slab for "ST: Selfweight of girders".
Also, see the attached deformation animation for Composite Girders. It can be observed that composite action is reflected in the analysis.

For Calculations for stresses for composite Sections see below link

Goto Loads > Construction Stage loads > Composite Section for Construction Stage
